AI Coding & Cyber Security Challenge
1. Theme
Through learning AI, cyber security knowledge and computer programming, participants use coding skills to complete challenge tasks in digital scenarios. The activity gives young students a stage to show their talent, raises their cyber security awareness, helps build a clean digital space, accelerates the development of AI and cyber security talent, and improves public awareness and protection capabilities.
2. Scope
1. Participant groups: Primary (Grades 1-3), Primary Advanced (Grades 4-6), Junior High, and Senior High (including secondary vocational schools).
2. Number of participants: 1.
3. Supervisor: 1 teacher (optional).
4. Group determination: based on the school stage of the participant as recognised by the local education authority (education commission, department or bureau).
3. Competition Environment
1. Platform: participants use the official competition platform.
2. Network: an internet connection sufficient for the activity.
3. Browser: the latest version of Google Chrome is recommended.
4. Coding device: participants bring their own computer (laptop or desktop) with sufficient battery. Windows 7 or above (64-bit) or macOS 10.9 or above, with a built-in or external camera and audio input.
5. Proctoring: online rounds are proctored by the platform; participants need their own phone or tablet.
6. Prohibited devices: USB drives, phones, tablets, walkie-talkies, watches or bands with communication or storage functions, etc.
4. Process
1. Registration: participants register through the official website; successful registration gives eligibility.
2. Participation: participants complete the activity within the specified time, producing gold, silver and bronze awards.
5. Content
The content consists of a knowledge quiz and a coding challenge. Participants complete the quiz first, then move on to the coding tasks, in that order.
1. Knowledge quiz
(1) Overview: participants log in to the platform within the specified time and complete AI, cyber security and programming questions online.
(2) Format: single- and multiple-choice questions.
(3) Coverage: including but not limited to personal information security, data protection, online fraud prevention, and basic AI applications and ethics.
(4) Duration: 20 questions in 10 minutes; afterwards the system moves on to the coding tasks (automatic transfer when time is up).
2. Coding challenge
(1) Overview: participants log in to the platform within the specified time and complete coding tasks by writing, running and submitting programs online — 3 tasks in total.
(2) Languages: Scratch, Python, C++
(3) Success: the program controls the character to complete the required task.
(4) Failure: failing to meet the task requirements.
(4) Duration: 3 tasks in 50 minutes; within this time participants may modify, run and submit programs repeatedly (automatic submission when time is up).
3. Other
(1) Gold, silver and bronze awards are based on ranking; if scores are equal, the faster participant ranks higher.
(2) Times are subject to those published on the competition platform.
6. Scoring Criteria

(2) Score calculation
The total score is the sum of the knowledge quiz and the coding challenge. Ranking is by score; higher scores rank higher. If scores are equal, the faster participant ranks higher; if all of these are equal, the participants are ranked joint.
7. No Award
1. Disqualification: duplicate or false registration, having someone else compete in your place or competing for someone else, or being more than 20 minutes late.
2. The participant scores zero.
3. A complaint against the participant is upheld.
4. The participant does not follow the correct instructions given by the judge (jury) under the rules.
5. The participant communicates with others during a task that must be completed independently.
6. During an online round, someone other than the participant appears in the participant's camera view.
8. Other Notes
(1) Participants may not enter a group of a different level; if discovered or reported, eligibility will be revoked.
(2) These rules are the basis for judging; during the activity the judge (jury) has final authority. Any matter not covered by the rules is decided by the judging panel.
(3) We encourage achieving the greatest educational value at the lowest cost — economical, green and efficient.
